Long ago, a very powerful man with the ability to control fire, fell in love with a water mage. The two ran away from all the people who saw them as a threatened. Together, they lived hides from the people who feared them. Not long after, the woman fell pregnant with twins, but upon their birth- she died. The man wasn’t very good at looking after himself, let alone twin baby girls, so he took them to an orphanage. Sadly, the twins got split up. The man, depressed from his wife’s death, drank heavily before eventually dying. The babies were alone in the word.
Around ten years passed and the twin girls had grown up very differently. One of them had short red hair and red eyes, the other had long blue hair and blue eyes. The only thing that was the same on them was the birthmark behind their ears. It was shaped like an algebra ‘x’ with a line underneath it. The red haired twin had grown up with the name Abigale, and lived with foster parents (who she hated). Her foster parents yelled at her a lot, and sometimes -if drunk- would go as far as hit poor little Abbie.
A rage had built up in Abigale. A rage she couldn’t control. Something had snapped in her. One time, her foster dad went to hit Abbie, and she glowed. A blue light came from her eyes and she looked terrifying. A small creature, which was red with a flame on its head for hair- that was also wearing armor- appeared out of the blue light. Abigale’s foster dad burst out into a fit of laughter, until the creature held out its hand and a blade (which was covered in flames) appeared in its hand.
The creature gave the sword to little Abbie. As soon as she took hold of the handle, her red hair curled and shiny; metal armor appeared- protecting her torso. The opposite hand to what she was holding the blade in, engulfed itself in flames. Abbie looked at the hand with wonder. She glared at her foster father, and a flame shot towards him. The poor man died in the flames. Abigale was quite frightened of the gift which she shad developed. She had no idea that her father was actually a fire mage.
‘Who are you?’ she asked the small creature. The creature just looked at her blankly. ‘I assume you can talk, so tell me who you are’ Abbie demanded.
‘Don’t assume things.’ The small creature spoke in a gruff voice. ‘My name is Gemi, I am the stronger half of the zodiac “Gemini”, and I am yours to do as you please miss Abigale.’
‘Do as I please?’ Abbie asked, a bit astonished at her power.
‘That is right miss, what do you want me to do?’ Gemi waited for her orders. A dark smirk crawled up on Abigale’s lips.
‘Kill her! Kill my foster mother!’ The little creature did as its master had ordered and killed the woman.
Meanwhile, at an orphanage, the other twin was sitting in her dull room, staring at a glass of water. She could hear the other children playing outside in the sun. She didn’t care though, she was just confused at something. Her name was Elizabeth, and she was probably the nicest, most kind hearted person you would ever meet. She was wondering why all the other kids at the orphanage were being adopted or fostered, while she was left there. Was it maybe her strong, long blue hair? She didn’t know. A tear fell down her cheek into the glass of water, causing a ripple to appear.
There was a red flash, then a small hand touched Elizabeth’s shoulder.
‘There, there Elizabeth’ a small squeaky voice said. Elizabeth didn’t know who it was, so she turned around. Before her, stood an innocent looking creature. It was wearing a onesie. It was blue, and had a tail made from water. Around its hips laid a belt with a small dagger in it.
‘Do I know you?’ Elizabeth asked the adorable little creature.
‘No, but I know you Lizzy.’ It said smiling, ‘my name is mini, from the zodiac “gemini”, I appeared because you were crying.’ Elizabeth patted its head. ‘Why were you crying Elizabeth? Please don’t cry.’ The creature started to also cry. Elizabeth hugged it. Eventually the two had finished crying and a smile was on their faces.
Both twins had made a friend, but they used them for completely different things. Abigale used Gemi to make those who ever hurt her suffer. Elizabeth used Mini to help the homeless by giving out her water at the nearby hostel. They were very different people.
